Understanding Hip Pain

Hip pain can be caused by osteoarthritis, tendon or muscle injury, bursitis, labral problems, bone injury, or pain referred from the spine. Examination and appropriate imaging help determine whether the problem is inside the joint or in the surrounding tissues.

Where Regenerative Medicine May Fit

PRP and bone-marrow-derived preparations are offered for selected hip-joint and tendon conditions. Evidence is more limited and technically variable than it is for knee osteoarthritis, and deeper targets generally require image guidance. These procedures cannot correct every structural cause of hip pain.
